| How to: Accept
Project
Recommended actions and strategies
The diagram below shows the steps to perform to
get a project accepted.
1. |
Hold a final status meeting with the project sponsor,
customer and key stakeholders.
|
2. |
Compare the product delivered to the established
baseline scope and requirements and confirm that
the product has been successfully developed. |
3. |
Confirm that the product has been successfully
transitioned to the ongoing support organization. |
4. |
Transfer any outstanding issues or actions items
to the customer. |
5. |
Document and transfer any items that are deferred
to a later phase of the project. |
6. |
Obtain a final acceptance signature from the project
sponsor.
The signature indicates acceptance of the project
and approval to proceed to the Close Stage.
Note: If the project sponsor does
not accept the project, he or she should indicate
the specific reasons for rejection. The project manager
should resolve the issues and seek the project sponsor’s
acceptance again.
